About The Art Planet
Welcome to The Art Planet – your inner galaxy guide to all things art related. I am Jan Weiss. I have been in the art publishing industry since the mid 90′s and have grown my experience from being an art coordinator to choosing art for publishing, recruiting artists and then on into the retail side of the art publishing business. Additionally I am a published artist myself with over 200 images in print. I sell through various venues and keep myself busy promoting my art and the art of others.
I have a degree in Fine Art from Cal State East Bay (formerly Cal State Hayward) and found myself in the art publishing world. It’s a good place to be…surrounded by talent and people that are passionate about they do.
The purpose of this blog is to promote emerging talent from those just getting out of school to those who are returning to art after many years of working other careers. I have been promoting new talent on the Tuesday Moon Studios blog for three years but discovered that I was quickly outgrowing the platform of that blog so I have moved on – to the Art Planet…because frankly…a planet is bigger then a moon.
