The Week Between
Welcome to the last week of December and welcome also to the new year just around the corner. What are your plans? Changes? New directions? I’m thinking good thoughts for 2012 and even though I prefer odd numbered years I won’t let that get in the way.
Even though math was never my favorite subject – when it is living in harmony with art it pulls at my heart strings. Crystal Math from Lydia Shirreff is freaking amazing. (and the title…damn!)
Polka Dots from Duck and Cover. My art crush today.
Here’s a link to teaching your child to draw from an Etsy blog post. I was fortunate to have parents who always encouraged me to draw and supplied with the necessary tools to feed my love of art. While it would be wishful thinking to expect all parents to encourage an artistic direction when it becomes evident I would hope most would because we simply need more artists in this world. It’s that simple.
Those geniuses in designs in the Netherlands are at it again. At Delta Inc we have lines. Lines on walls; lines on floors; lines going up; lines going down; happy lines;sad lines and lines that that are simply there. From the Eindhoven exhibit.
And finally – a recipe for sweet potato latkes because…well serving them only at Hanukkah would be sinful. Via Dramatic Pancake.
