Fab Finds and Art News
Yesterday was one of those days where I just kept finding new sites to read and get more and more great art news.
For example, my hubby discovered Lonny Mag – an online decorating magazine focusing on lifestyle and home decor. Also – a fun blog and damn…..I can never pass up a fun blog.
And speaking of blogs I can’t pass up…I came across this one called: My Favorite and My Best and if you take a close look…you will see that the writer cusses…I mean she cusses a lot. And I find no issue with that whatsoever…in fact…shit it just feels good to cuss sometimes. The focus of this blog is actually not cussing but home decor…like good symmetry below:
Next I discovered Total Art and Soul – an artistic community of like-minded souls…which really if you think about…pretty much completes life. Well – a paycheck helps. And health care…. Ok…where was I? Displacement - a 24×36 acrylic painting of sheer yumminess and stripes.
Eco-plastic jewelry. I know what you’re thinking. HOW can plastic be eco-friendly? Well my friends…it has happened. Here’s the web site description from the oh-so-freaking-amazing A + R Store. “Neither rubber nor silicone, the silkier, more durable formulation is eco-friendly certified, manufactured accordingly and packaged in recycled in paper.”
Did you think your cocktail accessories were somehow incomplete? Well – A + R did it again with pewter animal shot glasses. See – you can have wildlife in your home that won’t poop on the carpet.
Oh – I must share. I downloaded camera apps on my Droid phone. And…they are retro cameras with Lomo-like ninja skills. This is a really quick way to blow through the battery on your phone in no-time-flat. Here are my toes.
Housekeeping News. AC5.org is putting on a show titled Space Takes Flight to be held tomorrow night (9/29) at the Contra Costa County Supervisors Building on Pine Street in Martinez. Six local artists are represented and I would be very happy – super happy indeed- if you would come by and see. Visit the AC5 site here for more info about this public art collective.
Oh this is gorgeous isn’t it? Trapeze would be lovely...anywhere in my home. From Brian Elston’s Shop.
